Prepaid leftover is not a cancel save
ReCharge-class prepaid means the shopper already paid for cycles not yet shipped. Cancel is not “keep the rest as a win.” Refund due = remaining prepaid $ − written keep $. We invent no keep percent and no save rate.
Pair: Prepaid cancel balance on Subscriptions. The fork: pause vs skip vs cancel. Reason before offer: cancel reason.
What you type
Remaining prepaid $ — unused cycles × what they paid per cycle (or the CRM prepaid balance). Not billed remaining LTV.
Written keep $ — restocking, used-cycle, or “non-refundable prepaid” from the policy you actually show. Zero if you refund the unused balance in full.
Kill MIT when you cancel. Do not keep rebilling a prepaid profile you “paused” in CS.
What not to do
Do not call leftover prepaid a cancel-save. Do not invent a keep %. Do not offer store credit when the card still holds the unused cash unless policy says so. Do not skip store credit vs refund.

FAQ
- Is this pause vs skip vs cancel?
- No. [Pause vs skip vs cancel](/manuals/pause-vs-skip-vs-cancel) names the MIT fork. This page is the unused prepaid dollar on a cancel.
- Can I keep the leftover because they cancelled?
- Only if the written policy says so. Type that keep $. Silence is a chargeback later.
- Is store credit the same as this refund?
- No. If they paid card, unused prepaid is usually a processor refund. See store credit vs refund.
