SeamlessChex ACH under-approval is not Primer workflow-short
Take ACH ask $ minus approved hold $, then divide by ACH ask $ on one SeamlessChex ACH cut. That quotient × 100 is SC ACH-short %.
Pair: Partial-auth gap on Payments. Primer sibling: workflow-short. Later SeamlessChex door: partial-settle.
What you type
Requested auth $ — Cart dollars the SeamlessChex ACH rail sent as the ask.
Partial auth $ — Dollars the issuer actually parked on that same ACH cut.
SC ACH-short % = (ask − approved) ÷ ask × 100. A fat SC ACH-short % usually points at issuer or cart rules on that ACH seat — chase that path; never invent an SC ACH-short chip.
What not to do
Never invent SC ACH-short %. Never paste a Primer or Solidgate partial-auth CSV into SeamlessChex ACH ask / hold fields. Never treat a later settle short as a first ACH under-approval. Never average every MID when one ACH seat owns the short pile.

Procedure
- Type ACH ask $ and approved hold $.
- Read gap $ and SC ACH-short %.
- Chase issuer / cart rules when SC ACH-short % is material.
Failure modes
- Inventing SC ACH-short %.
- Dumping a Primer or Solidgate partial-auth file into SeamlessChex ACH fields.
- Treating a later SeamlessChex settle short as a first ACH under-approval.
Worked example
None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

FAQ
- Is this Primer workflow-short?
- Different gateway book. [Primer workflow-short](/manuals/primer-partial-auth-gap) reads Primer workflow ask vs approved hold. This door only scores SeamlessChex ACH under-approvals on a SeamlessChex ACH cut.
- Is this SeamlessChex partial-settle?
- Settle grain, not first auth. [Partial-settle gap](/manuals/seamless-partial-settle-gap) is partial-settled $ ÷ captured $. Here the numerator is ACH ask minus approved hold on the first auth.
- What SC ACH-short % should I invent?
- None. Copy ACH ask $ and approved hold $ from the same SeamlessChex ACH cut.
