Hold for pickup is not a porch delivery

How to run thisChargebacks4 steps
GuideHold for pickup — claim map · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

Hold for pickup / will-call means the parcel waits at a carrier location. A picked-up scan at the counter is not a porch left-at. An uncollected hold that expires often becomes RTS — not a delivery-scan NR fight.

Pair: Hold for pickup — claim map on Chargebacks. Scan gate: WISMO. Signed vs porch: signature vs porch. Expired hold → RTS: refused / RTS vs NR.

The fork

Available for pickup, not collected. CS notice. Written hold window. Then refund / reship / RTS — do not invent a universal hold-day chip.

Picked-up at counter. Strong consumer NR pack when the scan says picked-up. Still pull the scan — a CS email is not pickup proof.

Hold never created, porch drop instead. Wrong service. Treat as porch / left-at on signature vs porch, or refund if you promised hold.

Hold expired → RTS. Open rts-refused-vs-nr. Do not fight NR on an RTS scan.

What not to do

Do not invent a universal “N days on hold” chip. Do not treat available-for-pickup as delivered. Do not paste a porch photo into a hold ticket. Do not skip the warehouse / return check after RTS. Do not mix Amazon A-to-z pickup rules onto DTC holds.

Procedure

  1. Name available / picked-up / expired hold.
  2. If available — CS notice and written hold window.
  3. If picked-up — fight with that scan type (not porch).
  4. If expired → RTS — open rts-refused-vs-nr.

Failure modes

  • Fighting NR on available-for-pickup alone.
  • Treating picked-up as porch left-at.
  • Inventing a universal hold-day chip.
  • Fighting NR after hold expired into RTS.

Worked example

None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

FAQ

Tracking says available for pickup — fight as not-received?
Not yet. The shopper must pick up or the hold expires. Refund / reship / RTS after your written hold window — we invent no day count.
Picked-up scan at the counter — same as porch left-at?
No. Counter pickup with a picked-up scan is stronger than porch left-at. Name the scan type.
Is this signature vs porch?
Related. [Signature vs porch](/manuals/signature-vs-porch-nr) is signed vs left-at. This page is hold / will-call / counter pickup.
