CalculatorShipBob dock-to-ship lag · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

Take one ShipBob outbound path export. Read the carrier ship stamp. Subtract the trailer dock stamp. That calendar gap is SB dock-ship lag days. Keep orders beside the gap so volume stays honest.

Pair: Dock-to-ship lag on Stock. Fullstack twin: FS dock-ship. Putaway twin: dock-to-putaway.

Outbound-path columns

Trailer dock stamp — Calendar day ShipBob stamped when the inbound (or cross-dock) hit the trailer dock for that outbound path.

Carrier ship stamp — Calendar day those orders left as carrier-shipped.

Orders — ShipBob orders on that trailer-to-carrier cut.

SB dock-ship lag days = carrier ship stamp − trailer dock stamp. When SB dock-ship lag days stretch, staff the ShipBob outbound path before you pace ads — blank chips stay blank.

Hard stops

Do not invent SB dock-ship lag days. Do not dump dock-to-putaway or pick-to-ship hours into trailer/carrier boxes. Do not paste Fullstack dock-to-ship CSVs into ShipBob fields. Do not fuse sites when one ShipBob building owns the outbound pile.

Related: Stock, FS dock-ship, dock-to-putaway, pick-to-ship.

Procedure

  1. Type dock day, ship day, and orders.
  2. Read SB dock-ship lag days.
  3. Staff dock-to-outbound when SB dock-ship lag days are material.

Failure modes

  • Inventing SB dock-ship lag days.
  • Dumping dock-to-putaway or pick-to-ship hours into dock/ship day boxes.
  • Folding Fullstack dock-to-ship CSVs into ShipBob boxes.

Worked example

FAQ

Is this Fullstack dock-to-ship lag?
ShipBob WMS outbound path vs Fullstack dock-to-ship cut. [Dock-to-ship lag](/manuals/fullstack-dock-to-ship-lag) stays on Fullstack. Trailer / carrier stamps never leave ShipBob here.
Is this ShipBob dock-to-putaway lag?
Outbound carrier clock vs inbound putaway clock. [Dock-to-putaway lag](/manuals/shipbob-dock-to-putaway-lag) aligns putaway against dock. Here you align carrier ship stamp against trailer dock stamp on orders.
What SB dock-ship lag days should I invent?
None. Source trailer dock stamp, carrier ship stamp, and orders from the same ShipBob outbound path export.
