Backorder rate is not returns-restock lag
Backorders ÷ orders make backorder %. Type both.
Pair: Backorder rate on Stock. Restock: returns-restock lag. ASN: inbound ASN variance.
What you type
Backorders — Orders marked backordered / short-ship hold in the ShipBob window.
Orders — Outbound orders attempted in that same window.
Backorder % = backorders ÷ orders × 100. Pull inbound / cut ads when backorder % is fat — do not invent a backorder chip.
What not to do
Do not invent backorder %. Do not mix returns-restock lag into backorders. Do not treat ASN variance units as backorders. Do not average every SKU when one owns the hole.
Related: Stock, returns-restock lag, inbound ASN variance, pick-to-ship lag.
