Probation new affiliates before full payout
New affiliates get a probation: earnings cap, review window, named traffic sources, and a clawback pointer in the insertion order. Full rate on day one is how a bad cohort pays out before you see the chargebacks.
Pair: New-affiliate probation sheet on Traffic.
How to use the sheet
Tick what is written for this partner. Unchecked is a hole. Cap and window without a clawback pointer still leaves you paying for junk after the fact. Chargeback rate by partner cut is a different tool when that page is live on your branch. Cookie stuffing signals sit on cookie stuffing.
What not to do
Do not skip the cap because the network “vetted” them. Do not leave traffic sources blank. Do not confuse this sheet with the clawback contract language — write both.

Procedure
- Write the earnings cap and review window.
- Name allowed traffic sources.
- Point the IO at the clawback clause.
- Hold full-rate payout until the window clears and signals are clean.
Failure modes
- Full CPA on day one because the network “vetted” them.
- Cap without a clawback pointer in the IO.
- No CB cut until after the first big wire.
Worked example
None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.
Glossary
- Probation
- Limited earnings and review window before full CPA rate. Not the clawback clause itself.

FAQ
- Is a probation the same as a clawback clause?
- No. Probation limits new partners up front. Clawback recovers paid CPA after bad traffic. You want both written.
- Why not pay full CPA on day one?
- Cohort gaps hide a 4–5% dispute partner inside a fine network blend. Cap until the cut is clean.
- Does cookie stuffing belong on this sheet?
- Yes as a signal check. Detection detail sits on the cookie stuffing checklist.
